How Mentoring Works
It all begins with a friendship. Mentors meet their Friend once a week at school during lunch and recess, usually for less than an hour. Every mentor is screened and trained before being matched with a student.
Whether you spend the time playing tag or coloring together, that weekly visit gives a child a consistent time and a caring adult they can count on. Research shows that kids with a steady, supportive adult in their corner tend to do better in school and with friends.
