Program Coordinator-Friends of Children of Walla Walla

Primary Function:
Responsible for the overall operation of the Friends school-based and community-based programs in College Place, Walla Walla schools and the Walla Walla Valley. Specifically, recruiting adult volunteers and children, communicating with school administration or parents regarding the program, seeing that all paperwork in addition to screening and training are completed, entering in completed forms and other data, coordinating with school personnel, creating and supporting matches throughout the year, checking-in volunteers on a M-F daily basis, working to solve problematic situations, conducting evaluations on all matches, reporting in weekly staff meetings and ensuring that the program has high visibility in the Walla Walla Valley community.

Required Skills and Abilities:
Employee must be energetic, efficient in data entry using MS programs such as Excel, Word, and Publisher, supportive of matched volunteers and young Friends, knowledgeable in screening and interviewing skills, able to make reference calls, have a passion for helping and improving our youth, be flexible with work schedule as well as have good time management skills. Above all, must be a great team member and collaborator in addition to having a genuine affinity for children and their well-being.

Minimum Qualifications:

Customer Service skill set

Ability to speak in front of groups

Degree or prior experience in Social Services preferred.

Ability in Excel, Outlook, Data Entry, Word and Publisher.
